The Welsh Government has appointed the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru to determine the principles underpinning and the level of remuneration for Councillors – elected and co-opted within Town and Community Councils in Wales. Details of the Commission and the legislation within which it operates can be found at the Commission’s website.

Llanrwst Town Council has adopted a Scheme of Payments to its elected members which is reviewed and as necessary revised annually to reflect the determinations of the Commission.

The Town Council is required to maintain and make available the full details of payments made and, by 30th September of each year, to publicise the details of payments made within its area locally, on the Town Council website, to the Commission and to Audit Wales.
